Don’t forget the milk!

What are your memories of milk? Realising you’ve run out (again) right before breakfast? Being forced to drink it warm at school? Hearing the ‘clink’ as the milko delivered the glass bottles? From our morning Weet-Bix to our bedtime hot chocolate, milk is a constant part of our daily life. In Canberra, these memories are synonymous with a particular brand – Canberra Milk.

A staple of the city for decades, Canberra Milk branding is instantly recognisable: seen in shops, supermarkets, cafés, school canteens, on sporting jerseys and on the cheques given out to the many local charities it supports.

To celebrate the anniversary of Canberra Milk, this exhibition reflects on the dairy industry in the region and recognises the ‘udderly’ unique ways that Canberra Milk has contributed to our community.

Don’t forget the milk is an exhibition curated by Canberra Museum and Gallery and proudly sponsored by Canberra Milk.
